About TCX
TCX is Garmin's XML format for training activities. Besides the GPS track it records laps, heart rate, cadence and calories, which GPX has no standard fields for. Fitness services accept it as an upload.
TCX is a fitness-specific format that plain GPS and map tools do not understand. TCX keeps laps and heart rate for training analysis.
