How to convert HEIC to PDF

  1. Add your HEIC photos

Drop HEIC (HEIF) files onto the box above, or click it to choose them. ToAny reads the file's contents to detect the type, so a wrong extension does not matter.

  2. PDF is already chosen

Press Convert. Open Options first if you want to change the defaults. The work happens in this tab.

  3. Download

Save the PDF, or download everything as one ZIP if you converted several files.

Why ToAny

  • Private by construction

The HEIC to PDF converter is part of this page and runs inside your browser. Your photos are never sent to ToAny or to anyone else.

  • No upload, no queue

Nothing has to travel to a server and back, so the conversion starts the moment you press Convert, even on a slow connection.

  • Free, without an account

No sign-up, no email address and no watermark. Add several files and download them together as a ZIP.

HEIC to PDF: what to expect

Forms, visa and insurance portals, schools and employers routinely ask for a PDF rather than a picture, and they almost never accept HEIC. Putting the photo of a receipt, ID or signed page into a PDF solves both problems at once: the PDF opens on every device and prints at a predictable size.

Add several files and you can also combine them into a single PDF. The defaults suit most files. Under Options you can choose the page size and set the quality.

Most browsers other than Safari cannot read HEIC themselves, so a HEIC decoder of under 1 MB is downloaded the first time and kept in the browser cache. Each picture becomes one page. The page can match the picture's own size or be A4 or US Letter; on paper the sheet turns to suit the picture, which is shrunk to fit inside the margins and never enlarged.

HEIC vs PDF

HEIC

HEIC photo

HEIC is what iPhones have saved photos as since iOS 11 in 2017. It uses the HEVC video codec to store a photo in roughly half the space of a JPG. Outside Apple's own apps, support is patchy: Windows needs an extension and most websites refuse it.

Opens in iPhone, iPad and Mac natively; Windows needs extra codecs; most browsers cannot display it

PDF

PDF document

PDF fixes a document's layout so it looks identical on every screen and printer. That makes it the default for forms, invoices and anything sent to print, and also what makes it awkward to edit.

Questions

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. The HEIC to PDF conversion runs inside your browser, on your own phone or computer. The file is not sent to ToAny or to anyone else.

Is anything lost when converting HEIC to PDF?

Very little: the image is placed on a PDF page at its full resolution, stored as a high-quality JPEG to keep the file small. You can raise or lower the quality under Options.

Can I convert several HEIC files at once?

Yes. Add as many as you like, convert them together and download each result or all of them as one ZIP. You can also merge them into a single PDF.

How do I convert HEIC to PDF on Windows, Mac, iPhone or Android?

The steps are the same everywhere because ToAny runs in the web browser: open this page in a current version of Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox, add the HEIC file, press Convert and save the PDF. There is nothing to install.

Is there a file size limit?

Because nothing is uploaded, the practical limit is your device's memory. Very large files can fail on phones with little free memory; a computer copes better.
