How to convert TIFF to PDF

  1. Add your TIFF images

Drop TIFF (TIF) files onto the box above, or click it to choose them. ToAny reads the file's contents to detect the type, so a wrong extension does not matter.

  2. PDF is already chosen

Press Convert. Open Options first if you want to change the defaults. The work happens in this tab.

  3. Download

Save the PDF, or download everything as one ZIP if you converted several files.

Why ToAny

  • Private by construction

The TIFF to PDF converter is part of this page and runs inside your browser. Your images are never sent to ToAny or to anyone else.

  • No upload, no queue

Nothing has to travel to a server and back, so the conversion starts the moment you press Convert, even on a slow connection.

  • Free, without an account

No sign-up, no email address and no watermark. Add several files and download them together as a ZIP.

TIFF to PDF: what to expect

Scanners and fax systems often output TIFF, while the person receiving the document expects a PDF they can open on a phone. A PDF is also what most filing and e-signature systems want.

Add several files and you can also combine them into a single PDF. The defaults suit most files. Under Options you can choose the page size and set the quality.

Only the first page of a multi-page TIFF is converted. Each picture becomes one page. The page can match the picture's own size or be A4 or US Letter; on paper the sheet turns to suit the picture, which is shrunk to fit inside the margins and never enlarged.

TIFF vs PDF

TIFF

TIFF image

TIFF is the workhorse of scanning, publishing and archiving. It keeps full quality, can hold several pages and carries rich metadata, but files are large and browsers other than Safari will not display it.

Opens in Photo editors, scanners and print software; Safari is the only major browser that displays it

PDF

PDF document

PDF fixes a document's layout so it looks identical on every screen and printer. That makes it the default for forms, invoices and anything sent to print, and also what makes it awkward to edit.

Opens in Every browser, phone and computer

Questions

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. The TIFF to PDF conversion runs inside your browser, on your own phone or computer. The file is not sent to ToAny or to anyone else.

Is anything lost when converting TIFF to PDF?

Very little: the image is placed on a PDF page at its full resolution, stored as a high-quality JPEG to keep the file small. You can raise or lower the quality under Options.

Can I convert several TIFF files at once?

Yes. Add as many as you like, convert them together and download each result or all of them as one ZIP. You can also merge them into a single PDF.

How do I convert TIFF to PDF on Windows, Mac, iPhone or Android?

The steps are the same everywhere because ToAny runs in the web browser: open this page in a current version of Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox, add the TIFF file, press Convert and save the PDF. There is nothing to install.

Is there a file size limit?

Because nothing is uploaded, the practical limit is your device's memory. Very large files can fail on phones with little free memory; a computer copes better.
