How to convert CBZ to PDF

  1. Add your CBZ comic books

Drop CBZ files onto the box above, or click it to choose them. ToAny reads the file's contents to detect the type, so a wrong extension does not matter.

  2. PDF is already chosen

Press Convert. Open Options first if you want to change the defaults. The work happens in this tab.

  3. Download

Save the PDF, or download everything as one ZIP if you converted several files.

Why ToAny

  • Private by construction

The CBZ to PDF converter is part of this page and runs inside your browser. Your comic books are never sent to ToAny or to anyone else.

  • No upload, no queue

Nothing has to travel to a server and back, so the conversion starts the moment you press Convert, even on a slow connection.

  • Free, without an account

No sign-up, no email address and no watermark. Add several files and download them together as a ZIP.

CBZ to PDF: what to expect

A CBZ is a ZIP of page images that needs a comic reader. A PDF opens in every browser, phone and e-reader and prints, so it is the form to choose for a device or a person without one. Each page image becomes one PDF page.

The defaults suit most files. Under Options you can choose the page size.

A password-protected archive is refused, since its contents cannot be read without the password. Pages are put in reading order with numbers sorted as numbers (page 2 before page 10), one image per PDF page, up to 3,000 pages. Files in the archive that are not page images are ignored.

CBZ vs PDF

CBZ

Comic book (ZIP)

A CBZ is simply a ZIP file of page images, usually JPG or PNG, named so that they sort into reading order. The extension tells comic readers to show it as a book. Because it is a ZIP, any archive program can open it.

PDF document

PDF fixes a document's layout so it looks identical on every screen and printer. That makes it the default for forms, invoices and anything sent to print, and also what makes it awkward to edit.

Questions

Are my comic books uploaded anywhere?

No. The CBZ to PDF conversion runs inside your browser, on your own phone or computer. The file is not sent to ToAny or to anyone else.

Is anything lost when converting CBZ to PDF?

Text is kept. Formatting carries over only as far as PDF supports it.

Can I convert several CBZ files at once?

Yes. Add as many as you like, convert them together and download each result or all of them as one ZIP.

How do I convert CBZ to PDF on Windows, Mac, iPhone or Android?

The steps are the same everywhere because ToAny runs in the web browser: open this page in a current version of Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox, add the CBZ file, press Convert and save the PDF. There is nothing to install.

Is there a file size limit?

Yes. An archive can be up to 500 MB, unpack to at most 1 GB and hold up to 50,000 files; beyond those limits the page says so. Beyond that the limit is your device's memory, since nothing is uploaded; a computer copes with large files better than a phone.
