JP2 does not open in Chrome, Firefox or most apps. PDF looks the same on every device and keeps several pages in one file. JP2 is at home in scanned archives, medical images and digital cinema; PDF is the usual choice for documents that must look the same everywhere, and printing.
Add several files and you can also combine them into a single PDF. The defaults suit most files. Under Options you can choose the page size and set the quality.
JPEG 2000 files with a transparency channel, extra components or subsampled colour are refused for now; greyscale and ordinary colour files convert. The decoder is a WebAssembly module that downloads the first time and is cached. Each picture becomes one page. The page can match the picture's own size or be A4 or US Letter; on paper the sheet turns to suit the picture, which is shrunk to fit inside the margins and never enlarged.
JPEG 2000 replaces JPEG's blocky compression with wavelets, giving cleaner results at high compression and a true lossless mode. It never displaced JPEG on the web, but libraries and archives, DICOM medical images and cinema distribution use it. Safari is the only major browser that shows it.

Very little: the image is placed on a PDF page at its full resolution, stored as a high-quality JPEG to keep the file small. You can raise or lower the quality under Options.

Because nothing is uploaded, the practical limit is your device's memory. Very large files can fail on phones with little free memory; a computer copes better.
