ICNS to PDF: what to expect

ICNS opens only on a Mac and in icon tools. PDF looks the same on every device and keeps several pages in one file. ICNS is at home in macOS application and folder icons; PDF is the usual choice for documents that must look the same everywhere, and printing.

Add several files and you can also combine them into a single PDF. The defaults suit most files. Under Options you can choose the page size.

If the icon file holds several sizes, the largest one is converted. Each picture becomes one page. The page can match the picture's own size or be A4 or US Letter; on paper the sheet turns to suit the picture, which is shrunk to fit inside the margins and never enlarged.

ICNS is the icon container of macOS. One file holds the same icon at many sizes, from 16 to 1024 pixels including Retina versions, each with transparency. Every Mac app carries one in its bundle.

PDF document

PDF fixes a document's layout so it looks identical on every screen and printer. That makes it the default for forms, invoices and anything sent to print, and also what makes it awkward to edit.

Questions

Are my icons uploaded anywhere?

No. The ICNS to PDF conversion runs inside your browser, on your own phone or computer. The file is not sent to ToAny or to anyone else.

Is anything lost when converting ICNS to PDF?

No visible change: the image is placed on a PDF page at its full resolution.

Can I convert several ICNS files at once?

Yes. Add as many as you like, convert them together and download each result or all of them as one ZIP. You can also merge them into a single PDF.

How do I convert ICNS to PDF on Windows, Mac, iPhone or Android?

The steps are the same everywhere because ToAny runs in the web browser: open this page in a current version of Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox, add the ICNS file, press Convert and save the PDF. There is nothing to install.

Is there a file size limit?

Because nothing is uploaded, the practical limit is your device's memory. Very large files can fail on phones with little free memory; a computer copes better.
