CSV carries no formatting, formulas or multiple sheets, and Excel often misreads its dates and encodings. YAML is easier for people to read and edit than JSON and allows comments. CSV is at home in moving tabular data between systems; YAML is the usual choice for configuration files written by people.
The first row is read as column names, and every row after it becomes one list item, keyed by those names. A header such as address.city is turned back into a nested address with a city. Numbers and true/false in the cells are written as real numbers and booleans, but values such as ZIP codes with a leading zero, phone numbers and very long ids stay text so nothing is altered; empty cells become null.
CSV is a table written as text: one row per line, values separated by commas. Every spreadsheet and database can import and export it, but it holds one sheet only and no formatting, formulas or data types.

The values are kept. Anything YAML has no way to express, such as formatting, formulas or nesting, is simplified or left out.

Yes. Data files up to 300 MB are accepted; a larger file is refused with a message. Beyond that the limit is your device's memory, since nothing is uploaded; a computer copes with large files better than a phone.
