CSV carries no formatting, formulas or multiple sheets, and Excel often misreads its dates and encodings. XLSM keeps a workbook's macros. CSV is at home in moving tabular data between systems; XLSM is the usual choice for workbooks that carry VBA macros.
Numbers and true/false in the cells become real spreadsheet values rather than text, and the data lands on one sheet named Sheet1. The workbook is saved with the .xlsm extension but contains no macros; nothing is added to it.
CSV is a table written as text: one row per line, values separated by commas. Every spreadsheet and database can import and export it, but it holds one sheet only and no formatting, formulas or data types.

CSV converterXLSM is XLSX with a VBA macro project attached. Excel refuses to save macros inside a plain XLSX, so a workbook with macros gets this extension. The cells are stored exactly as in XLSX; the macros are a separate binary part of the package.

The values are kept. Anything XLSM has no way to express, such as formatting, formulas or nesting, is simplified or left out.

Yes. Data files up to 300 MB are accepted; a larger file is refused with a message. Beyond that the limit is your device's memory, since nothing is uploaded; a computer copes with large files better than a phone.
