How to convert AVIF to PDF

  1. Add your AVIF images

Drop AVIF files onto the box above, or click it to choose them. ToAny reads the file's contents to detect the type, so a wrong extension does not matter.

  2. PDF is already chosen

Press Convert. Open Options first if you want to change the defaults. The work happens in this tab.

  3. Download

Save the PDF, or download everything as one ZIP if you converted several files.

Why ToAny

Nothing has to travel to a server and back, so the conversion starts the moment you press Convert, even on a slow connection.

  • Free, without an account

No sign-up, no email address and no watermark. Add several files and download them together as a ZIP.

AVIF to PDF: what to expect

AVIF is not opened by many desktop apps, older phones or upload forms. PDF looks the same on every device and keeps several pages in one file. AVIF is at home in the smallest images for websites; PDF is the usual choice for documents that must look the same everywhere, and printing.

Add several files and you can also combine them into a single PDF. The defaults suit most files. Under Options you can choose the page size and set the quality.

Each picture becomes one page. The page can match the picture's own size or be A4 or US Letter; on paper the sheet turns to suit the picture, which is shrunk to fit inside the margins and never enlarged.

AVIF vs PDF

AVIF

AVIF image

AVIF stores a still image using the AV1 video codec. It usually beats both JPG and WebP on file size and supports transparency, HDR and wide colour. Current browsers display it, but many image editors, viewers and upload forms still do not.

Opens in Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Safari 16 or later; few desktop apps

PDF document

PDF fixes a document's layout so it looks identical on every screen and printer. That makes it the default for forms, invoices and anything sent to print, and also what makes it awkward to edit.

Questions

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. The AVIF to PDF conversion runs inside your browser, on your own phone or computer. The file is not sent to ToAny or to anyone else.

Is anything lost when converting AVIF to PDF?

Very little: the image is placed on a PDF page at its full resolution, stored as a high-quality JPEG to keep the file small. You can raise or lower the quality under Options.

Can I convert several AVIF files at once?

Yes. Add as many as you like, convert them together and download each result or all of them as one ZIP. You can also merge them into a single PDF.

How do I convert AVIF to PDF on Windows, Mac, iPhone or Android?

The steps are the same everywhere because ToAny runs in the web browser: open this page in a current version of Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox, add the AVIF file, press Convert and save the PDF. There is nothing to install.

Is there a file size limit?

Because nothing is uploaded, the practical limit is your device's memory. Very large files can fail on phones with little free memory; a computer copes better.
