About ORA

OpenRaster is an open format for layered images. The file is a ZIP holding each layer as a PNG, a small XML description of the stack, a flattened preview and a thumbnail, so any program can unpack it. It exists so artists can move layered work between painting programs.

ORA opens in few programs outside open-source painting tools. ORA keeps layers editable and is readable by several programs.
