How to convert MSG to HTML

  1. Add your MSG emails

Drop MSG (Outlook message) files onto the box above, or click it to choose them. ToAny reads the file's contents to detect the type, so a wrong extension does not matter.

  2. HTML is already chosen

Press Convert. There is nothing else to set. The work happens in this tab.

  3. Download

Save the HTML, or download everything as one ZIP if you converted several files.

Why ToAny

  • Private by construction

The MSG to HTML converter is part of this page and runs inside your browser. Your emails are never sent to ToAny or to anyone else.

  • No upload, no queue

Nothing has to travel to a server and back, so the conversion starts the moment you press Convert, even on a slow connection.

  • Free, without an account

No sign-up, no email address and no watermark. Add several files and download them together as a ZIP.

MSG to HTML: what to expect

An MSG is Outlook's own file format, and outside Outlook it is hard to open. A web page works in any browser on any system, and can be printed or saved with the rest of your records.

The message is turned into an inert page: scripts, forms and remote pictures are removed (so a tracking pixel never loads), pictures embedded in the message are included, and the page carries a policy that stops a browser from loading anything else. Outlook messages are read from their compound-file structure. A message that has only a rich-text (RTF) body may come out with no text. Messages up to 100 MB are accepted.

MSG vs HTML

MSG

Outlook message

An MSG file is one Outlook item, an email, appointment or contact, saved in Microsoft's compound file format. It keeps the message with its attachments, but the layout is proprietary, so mail programs other than Outlook cannot open it directly.

Questions

Are my emails uploaded anywhere?

No. The MSG to HTML conversion runs inside your browser, on your own phone or computer. The file is not sent to ToAny or to anyone else.

Is anything lost when converting MSG to HTML?

Text is kept. Formatting carries over only as far as HTML supports it.

Can I convert several MSG files at once?

Yes. Add as many as you like, convert them together and download each result or all of them as one ZIP.

How do I convert MSG to HTML on Windows, Mac, iPhone or Android?

The steps are the same everywhere because ToAny runs in the web browser: open this page in a current version of Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox, add the MSG file, press Convert and save the HTML. There is nothing to install.

Is there a file size limit?

Yes. A message can be up to 100 MB; a larger one is refused with a message. Beyond that the limit is your device's memory, since nothing is uploaded; a computer copes with large files better than a phone.
