How to convert EPUB to HTML

  1. Add your EPUB e-books

Drop EPUB files onto the box above, or click it to choose them. ToAny reads the file's contents to detect the type, so a wrong extension does not matter.

  2. HTML is already chosen

Press Convert. There is nothing else to set. The work happens in this tab.

  3. Download

Save the HTML, or download everything as one ZIP if you converted several files.

Why ToAny

  • Private by construction

The EPUB to HTML converter is part of this page and runs inside your browser. Your e-books are never sent to ToAny or to anyone else.

  • No upload, no queue

Nothing has to travel to a server and back, so the conversion starts the moment you press Convert, even on a slow connection.

  • Free, without an account

No sign-up, no email address and no watermark. Add several files and download them together as a ZIP.

EPUB to HTML: what to expect

EPUB needs an e-reader app and does not print with a fixed layout. HTML opens in any browser and can be published on the web as-is. EPUB is at home in e-books that adapt to any screen size; HTML is the usual choice for web pages and emails.

The HTML is made inert: scripts, event handlers and forms are removed, remote pictures become plain links and nothing in it is fetched when you open it. Chapters are joined in the book's reading order and its pictures are embedded; an e-book with copy protection (DRM) is refused because its text cannot be read.

EPUB vs HTML

EPUB

EPUB e-book

EPUB is the open standard for e-books. Text reflows to fit the screen and the reader chooses the font and size. Almost every e-reader other than older Kindles opens it directly.

Questions

Are my e-books uploaded anywhere?

No. The EPUB to HTML conversion runs inside your browser, on your own phone or computer. The file is not sent to ToAny or to anyone else.

Is anything lost when converting EPUB to HTML?

Text is kept. Formatting carries over only as far as HTML supports it.

Can I convert several EPUB files at once?

Yes. Add as many as you like, convert them together and download each result or all of them as one ZIP.

How do I convert EPUB to HTML on Windows, Mac, iPhone or Android?

The steps are the same everywhere because ToAny runs in the web browser: open this page in a current version of Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox, add the EPUB file, press Convert and save the HTML. There is nothing to install.

Is there a file size limit?

Yes. Files up to 150 MB are accepted; a larger one is refused with a message. Beyond that the limit is your device's memory, since nothing is uploaded; a computer copes with large files better than a phone.
