How to convert MOBI to HTML

  1. Add your MOBI e-books

Drop MOBI files onto the box above, or click it to choose them. ToAny reads the file's contents to detect the type, so a wrong extension does not matter.

  2. HTML is already chosen

Press Convert. There is nothing else to set. The work happens in this tab.

  3. Download

Save the HTML, or download everything as one ZIP if you converted several files.

Why ToAny

  • Private by construction

The MOBI to HTML converter is part of this page and runs inside your browser. Your e-books are never sent to ToAny or to anyone else.

  • No upload, no queue

Nothing has to travel to a server and back, so the conversion starts the moment you press Convert, even on a slow connection.

  • Free, without an account

No sign-up, no email address and no watermark. Add several files and download them together as a ZIP.

MOBI to HTML: what to expect

MOBI is no longer accepted by Send to Kindle and is not opened by other e-readers. HTML opens in any browser and can be published on the web as-is. MOBI is at home in Kindles too old for newer formats; HTML is the usual choice for web pages and emails.

The HTML is made inert: scripts, event handlers and forms are removed, remote pictures become plain links and nothing in it is fetched when you open it. Both the older Mobi format and the newer KF8 (AZW3) are read, with the chapters in order and the pictures embedded; a book bought from the Kindle store with Amazon copy protection (DRM) is refused because its text cannot be read.

MOBI

Kindle e-book

MOBI is the e-book format older Kindles used. Amazon stopped accepting MOBI through Send to Kindle in 2022 in favour of EPUB, so it is now mostly found in old libraries.

Questions

Are my e-books uploaded anywhere?

No. The MOBI to HTML conversion runs inside your browser, on your own phone or computer. The file is not sent to ToAny or to anyone else.

Is anything lost when converting MOBI to HTML?

Text is kept. Formatting carries over only as far as HTML supports it.

Can I convert several MOBI files at once?

Yes. Add as many as you like, convert them together and download each result or all of them as one ZIP.

How do I convert MOBI to HTML on Windows, Mac, iPhone or Android?

The steps are the same everywhere because ToAny runs in the web browser: open this page in a current version of Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox, add the MOBI file, press Convert and save the HTML. There is nothing to install.

Is there a file size limit?

Yes. Files up to 150 MB are accepted; a larger one is refused with a message. Beyond that the limit is your device's memory, since nothing is uploaded; a computer copes with large files better than a phone.
