About AAC
AAC was designed as the successor to MP3 and is the audio codec inside most MP4 videos and streaming services. A bare .aac file is the raw stream without a container, which some players handle poorly.
A raw AAC file has no container, so some players cannot seek in it or read its tags. AAC is more efficient than MP3 at the same bitrate.
