About CAF
CAF is a flexible audio container that Apple introduced with Mac OS X Tiger. It can hold almost any codec and has no practical file size limit, unlike WAV or AIFF. It is common in Apple's developer tools and in apps built on Core Audio.
CAF is little supported outside Apple's software. CAF is what Apple's audio tools and iOS apps use.
