  3. Download

Save the TTA, or download everything as one ZIP if you converted several files.

FLAC to TTA: what to expect

FLAC files are large, and Apple Music, many car stereos and older players will not play them. TTA stores audio losslessly in a smaller file than WAV. FLAC is at home in archiving music at full quality; TTA is the usual choice for archiving CDs without losing quality.

The defaults suit most files. Under Options you can trim the start and end.

This pair uses the compatibility engine, ffmpeg built for the browser, because TTA cannot be written by the browser's built-in codecs. It is a one-off download of about 10 MB that the browser keeps, it is slower than the built-in codecs, and it takes files up to 1 GB.

FLAC vs TTA

FLAC

FLAC audio

FLAC compresses audio to roughly half the size of WAV without losing anything, like a ZIP for sound. It is the standard for lossless music collections. Apple's Music app is the notable holdout.

Opens in Android, Windows, VLC, most hi-fi players; Apple Music does not import it

TTA

True Audio

TTA is a free lossless audio codec in the same family of purpose as FLAC. It makes files noticeably smaller than WAV and rebuilds the original exactly, but few devices and apps support it.

Questions

Are my audio files uploaded anywhere?

No. The FLAC to TTA conversion runs inside your browser, on your own phone or computer. The file is not sent to ToAny or to anyone else.

Does converting FLAC to TTA reduce quality?

No further quality is lost: TTA stores the decoded audio exactly. The result is identical in content.

Can I convert several FLAC files at once?

Yes. Add as many as you like, convert them together and download each result or all of them as one ZIP.

How do I convert FLAC to TTA on Windows, Mac, iPhone or Android?

The steps are the same everywhere because ToAny runs in the web browser: open this page in a current version of Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox, add the FLAC file, press Convert and save the TTA. There is nothing to install.

Is there a file size limit?

Yes. FLAC to TTA runs on the compatibility engine, which takes files up to 1 GB, and a long clip takes a while because it is slower than the browser's built-in codecs. Beyond that the limit is your device's memory, since nothing is uploaded; a computer copes with large files better than a phone.
