  2. AIFF is already chosen

  3. Download

Save the AIFF, or download everything as one ZIP if you converted several files.

Why ToAny

Nothing has to travel to a server and back, so the conversion starts the moment you press Convert, even on a slow connection.

  • Free, without an account

No sign-up, no email address and no watermark. Add several files and download them together as a ZIP.

FLAC to AIFF: what to expect

FLAC files are large, and Apple Music, many car stereos and older players will not play them. AIFF is uncompressed and native to Mac audio software. FLAC is at home in archiving music at full quality; AIFF is the usual choice for audio production on the Mac.

The defaults suit most files. Under Options you can trim the start and end.

This pair uses the compatibility engine, ffmpeg built for the browser, because AIFF cannot be written by the browser's built-in codecs. It is a one-off download of about 10 MB that the browser keeps, it is slower than the built-in codecs, and it takes files up to 1 GB.

FLAC vs AIFF

FLAC

FLAC audio

FLAC compresses audio to roughly half the size of WAV without losing anything, like a ZIP for sound. It is the standard for lossless music collections. Apple's Music app is the notable holdout.

Opens in Android, Windows, VLC, most hi-fi players; Apple Music does not import it

AIFF audio

AIFF is Apple's counterpart to WAV: uncompressed audio with full quality and large files. Logic and GarageBand use it heavily.

Opens in macOS, audio editors, most DAWs; browsers and phones vary

Questions

Are my audio files uploaded anywhere?

No. The FLAC to AIFF conversion runs inside your browser, on your own phone or computer. The file is not sent to ToAny or to anyone else.

Does converting FLAC to AIFF reduce quality?

No further quality is lost: AIFF stores the decoded audio exactly. The result is identical in content.

Can I convert several FLAC files at once?

Yes. Add as many as you like, convert them together and download each result or all of them as one ZIP.

How do I convert FLAC to AIFF on Windows, Mac, iPhone or Android?

The steps are the same everywhere because ToAny runs in the web browser: open this page in a current version of Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox, add the FLAC file, press Convert and save the AIFF. There is nothing to install.

Is there a file size limit?

Yes. FLAC to AIFF runs on the compatibility engine, which takes files up to 1 GB, and a long clip takes a while because it is slower than the browser's built-in codecs. Beyond that the limit is your device's memory, since nothing is uploaded; a computer copes with large files better than a phone.
