How to convert CB7 to CBZ

  1. Add your CB7 comic books

Drop CB7 files onto the box above, or click it to choose them. ToAny reads the file's contents to detect the type, so a wrong extension does not matter.

  2. CBZ is already chosen

Press Convert. There is nothing else to set. The work happens in this tab.

  3. Download

Save the CBZ, or download everything as one ZIP if you converted several files.

Why ToAny

  • Private by construction

The CB7 to CBZ converter is part of this page and runs inside your browser. Your comic books are never sent to ToAny or to anyone else.

  • No upload, no queue

Nothing has to travel to a server and back, so the conversion starts the moment you press Convert, even on a slow connection.

  • Free, without an account

No sign-up, no email address and no watermark. Add several files and download them together as a ZIP.

CB7 to CBZ: what to expect

CB7 is read by fewer comic readers than CBZ. CBZ opens in every comic reader and keeps the pages unmodified. CB7 is at home in digital comics and manga where a smaller file matters; CBZ is the usual choice for digital comics and manga.

A password-protected archive is refused, since its contents cannot be read without the password. A comic book archive may hold nothing but page images (and a ComicInfo.xml file). If the archive holds anything else, the conversion is refused and says so.

CB7 vs CBZ

CB7

Comic book (7z)

A CB7 is a 7z archive of page images. 7z can pack the pages a little tighter than ZIP, but fewer comic readers support it, so it is the rarest of the three comic archive types.

Opens in Comic readers such as YACReader and Calibre; fewer than CBZ

CBZ

Comic book (ZIP)

A CBZ is simply a ZIP file of page images, usually JPG or PNG, named so that they sort into reading order. The extension tells comic readers to show it as a book. Because it is a ZIP, any archive program can open it.

Opens in Comic readers such as YACReader, CDisplay and Calibre; most e-reader apps

Questions

Are my comic books uploaded anywhere?

No. The CB7 to CBZ conversion runs inside your browser, on your own phone or computer. The file is not sent to ToAny or to anyone else.

Is anything lost when converting CB7 to CBZ?

Text is kept. Formatting carries over only as far as CBZ supports it.

Can I convert several CB7 files at once?

Yes. Add as many as you like, convert them together and download each result or all of them as one ZIP.

How do I convert CB7 to CBZ on Windows, Mac, iPhone or Android?

The steps are the same everywhere because ToAny runs in the web browser: open this page in a current version of Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox, add the CB7 file, press Convert and save the CBZ. There is nothing to install.

Is there a file size limit?

Yes. An archive can be up to 500 MB, unpack to at most 1 GB and hold up to 50,000 files; beyond those limits the page says so. Beyond that the limit is your device's memory, since nothing is uploaded; a computer copes with large files better than a phone.
