LZH is a retro format that current operating systems cannot open. ZIP opens on every computer and phone without extra software. LZH is at home in opening Japanese software and Amiga archives from the 1990s; ZIP is the usual choice for sending several files as one.
A password-protected archive is refused, since its contents cannot be read without the password. LZH files are read, not installed or mounted: every file inside is unpacked and repacked into the ZIP, so nothing of the system image or installer is run.
LHA, written by Haruyasu Yoshizaki as LHarc in 1988, was one of the most widely used archive formats in Japan and on the Amiga. Self-extracting LZH files circulated on bulletin boards in the 1990s. Current operating systems do not open it themselves.

Yes. An archive can be up to 500 MB, unpack to at most 1 GB and hold up to 50,000 files; beyond those limits the page says so. Beyond that the limit is your device's memory, since nothing is uploaded; a computer copes with large files better than a phone.
