A PowerPoint file is the way to put a PDF into a talk, or to show it page by page in a meeting. Each page becomes a slide that holds the page as a picture, so it looks the same on every computer and nothing moves. A PDF does not say which letters make a line or a paragraph, so the text on the slide is part of the picture. The words of each page are in the slide's notes.
The defaults suit most files. Under Options you can choose which pages to convert, set the resolution and set or supply a password.
Each page becomes a slide holding a picture of the page, drawn at 150 DPI unless you pick another value in Options. The text of the page goes into the slide's notes. The text on the slide is part of the picture: it cannot be edited there, and PDF to Word is the one to use for that. The slide has the size most pages have, and a page of another size is shown whole in the middle of it. A password-protected PDF needs its password, entered under Options; without it the file is refused.
