About WTV
WTV is the file format Windows Media Center writes when it records television, introduced with Windows Vista. It stores the broadcast stream as it came in, with guide data. Recordings of copy-protected channels can be locked to the PC that made them.
WTV only plays in Windows Media Center and a few media players. WTV is what Windows Media Center records and plays.
