How to convert WOFF to TTF

  1. Add your WOFF fonts

Drop WOFF files onto the box above, or click it to choose them. ToAny reads the file's contents to detect the type, so a wrong extension does not matter.

  2. TTF is already chosen

Press Convert. There is nothing else to set. The work happens in this tab.

  3. Download

Save the TTF, or download everything as one ZIP if you converted several files.

Why ToAny

  • Private by construction

The WOFF to TTF converter is part of this page and runs inside your browser. Your fonts are never sent to ToAny or to anyone else.

  • No upload, no queue

Nothing has to travel to a server and back, so the conversion starts the moment you press Convert, even on a slow connection.

  • Free, without an account

No sign-up, no email address and no watermark. Add several files and download them together as a ZIP.

WOFF to TTF: what to expect

WOFF is TTF or OTF with compressed tables, built for browsers. To install a font from a website in your system or open it in a design program you need the uncompressed form. Check the licence before reusing a font outside the site it came from.

The outlines and tables of the font are copied unchanged and only the wrapper around them changes, so the letterforms, hinting and layout features are exactly the same. A web font holds either TrueType or PostScript (CFF) outlines, and TTF can only be the matching kind. If the choice is wrong, the conversion stops and says whether OTF is the right one. A file that is not a TrueType, OpenType, WOFF, WOFF2 or collection font is refused.

WOFF vs TTF

WOFF

WOFF web font

WOFF is a TTF or OTF font with each table compressed, turning it into a lighter file for web pages. It became a W3C Recommendation in 2012 and every browser supports it. WOFF2 compresses further and has replaced it for new sites.

TTF

TrueType font

TrueType was developed by Apple and licensed to Microsoft, and became the standard font format of Windows and macOS. A TTF describes each glyph with quadratic curves plus hinting instructions for sharp rendering at small sizes. Browsers can load it, but WOFF2 is lighter for the web.

Questions

Are my fonts uploaded anywhere?

No. The WOFF to TTF conversion runs inside your browser, on your own phone or computer. The file is not sent to ToAny or to anyone else.

Is anything lost when converting WOFF to TTF?

No further quality is lost: TTF stores the decoded audio exactly. The result is identical in content.

Can I convert several WOFF files at once?

Yes. Add as many as you like, convert them together and download each result or all of them as one ZIP.

How do I convert WOFF to TTF on Windows, Mac, iPhone or Android?

The steps are the same everywhere because ToAny runs in the web browser: open this page in a current version of Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox, add the WOFF file, press Convert and save the TTF. There is nothing to install.

Is there a file size limit?

Yes. Fonts up to 100 MB are accepted, which covers all but the very largest CJK families. Beyond that the limit is your device's memory, since nothing is uploaded; a computer copes with large files better than a phone.
