How to convert TTC to TTF

  1. Add your TTC fonts

Drop TTC (OTC) files onto the box above, or click it to choose them. ToAny reads the file's contents to detect the type, so a wrong extension does not matter.

  2. TTF is already chosen

Press Convert. There is nothing else to set. The work happens in this tab.

  3. Download

Save the result. When one file produces several TTF files they come as a single ZIP.

Why ToAny

  • Private by construction

The TTC to TTF converter is part of this page and runs inside your browser. Your fonts are never sent to ToAny or to anyone else.

  • No upload, no queue

Nothing has to travel to a server and back, so the conversion starts the moment you press Convert, even on a slow connection.

  • Free, without an account

No sign-up, no email address and no watermark. Add several files and download them together as a ZIP.

TTC to TTF: what to expect

A collection holds several fonts, which web pages and many tools cannot use as one file. TTF installs on every operating system and works in every design tool. TTC is at home in font families that share outlines, such as CJK families; TTF is the usual choice for installing a font on a computer or in an app.

One TTC can produce several TTF files (one file per font); when it does, they are offered together as a ZIP download.

The outlines and tables of the font are copied unchanged and only the wrapper around them changes, so the letterforms, hinting and layout features are exactly the same. A collection holds several fonts that share data; each one is written as its own TTF, and several come as a ZIP. A file that is not a TrueType, OpenType, WOFF, WOFF2 or collection font is refused.

TTC vs TTF

TTC

Font collection

A TTC packs several fonts into one file so that they can share glyph data. Many system fonts, such as Windows' Japanese and Chinese fonts and macOS' Helvetica Neue, come as collections. OpenType Collection (.otc) is the same idea for OpenType.

TTF

TrueType font

TrueType was developed by Apple and licensed to Microsoft, and became the standard font format of Windows and macOS. A TTF describes each glyph with quadratic curves plus hinting instructions for sharp rendering at small sizes. Browsers can load it, but WOFF2 is lighter for the web.

Questions

Are my fonts uploaded anywhere?

No. The TTC to TTF conversion runs inside your browser, on your own phone or computer. The file is not sent to ToAny or to anyone else.

Is anything lost when converting TTC to TTF?

No further quality is lost: TTF stores the decoded audio exactly. The result is identical in content.

Can I convert several TTC files at once?

Yes. Add as many as you like, convert them together and download each result or all of them as one ZIP.

How do I convert TTC to TTF on Windows, Mac, iPhone or Android?

The steps are the same everywhere because ToAny runs in the web browser: open this page in a current version of Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox, add the TTC file, press Convert and save the TTF. There is nothing to install.

Is there a file size limit?

Yes. Fonts up to 100 MB are accepted, which covers all but the very largest CJK families. Beyond that the limit is your device's memory, since nothing is uploaded; a computer copes with large files better than a phone.
