How to convert OGG to WAV

  1. Add your OGG audio files

Drop OGG files onto the box above, or click it to choose them. ToAny reads the file's contents to detect the type, so a wrong extension does not matter.

  2. WAV is already chosen

Press Convert. Open Options first if you want to change the defaults. The work happens in this tab.

  3. Download

Save the WAV, or download everything as one ZIP if you converted several files.

  • Free, without an account

No sign-up, no email address and no watermark. Add several files and download them together as a ZIP.

OGG to WAV: what to expect

Ogg does not play on iPhones, in iTunes or on many hardware players. WAV is uncompressed, so audio editors and transcription tools accept it without fuss. OGG is at home in royalty-free audio in games and on the web; WAV is the usual choice for recording, editing and mastering. WAV cannot bring back detail that OGG compression already removed; it simply stores the result without further loss, in a larger file.

The defaults suit most files. Under Options you can trim the start and end.

The conversion uses your browser's own video and audio codecs (WebCodecs), with hardware acceleration where the device has it; the file is read from disk as it goes and can be up to 2 GB. Where the browser lacks a codec, the page falls back to the compatibility engine.

OGG vs WAV

OGG

Ogg audio

Ogg is an open container, most often holding Vorbis audio. Games, Linux software and Wikipedia use it because it is free of patents. Apple's players do not support it natively.

Opens in Chrome, Firefox, Android, VLC; Apple devices need extra software

WAV

WAV audio

WAV stores audio as raw, uncompressed samples. Nothing is lost, which makes it the standard working format in audio editing, and files run to about 10 MB per minute at CD quality.

Questions

Are my audio files uploaded anywhere?

No. The OGG to WAV conversion runs inside your browser, on your own phone or computer. The file is not sent to ToAny or to anyone else.

Does converting OGG to WAV reduce quality?

Nothing more is lost: WAV is uncompressed, written as 16-bit audio, the same as a CD. It cannot restore what OGG compression already discarded, and the file will be larger.

Can I convert several OGG files at once?

Yes. Add as many as you like, convert them together and download each result or all of them as one ZIP.

How do I convert OGG to WAV on Windows, Mac, iPhone or Android?

The steps are the same everywhere because ToAny runs in the web browser: open this page in a current version of Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox, add the OGG file, press Convert and save the WAV. There is nothing to install.

Is there a file size limit?

Yes. Files up to 2 GB are accepted. Beyond that the limit is your device's memory, since nothing is uploaded; a computer copes with large files better than a phone.
